Laced Up Seattle

July 10th, 2008 ·

The sneaker culture as we know it has expanded as a powerful entity around the world. Reaching Europe and Asia to the small towns in America where it continues to grow. However, Some might not know that a boutique that brings the culture to an urban setting could be right around the corner.

In Seattle, there is a sneaker boutique called Laced up that defines the very pure form of a boutique that represents the sneaker culture, fashion, Hip Hop and Art. 4 very powerful art forms in one place can be found here and it is where it all comes together.

The owner of the shop Cassius broke it down to us and explained what the main goal was opening a shop in Seattle.

“We wanted to bring something new to the community of Seattle as far as music, art and fashion go because we are passionate about preserving sneaker culture. We feel as though the sneaker culture and hip hop are hand in hand and we want to continue to push the boundaries of both”

Where did the Idea of “Laced up” come about?

“Our name stems from slang that we grew up using. To be laced up is to be fly from the head down”

What makes Laced Up different from other boutiques that have the same goal?

“We’re real. We recognize that there are a lot of boutiques that are using this culture as a quick hustle. For us, We wouldn’t be doing anything else. This is our love and that reflects when you come in and speak to us. We support local artists by hosting art shows and rotating the artwork in our store. We also host different hip hop shows and sneaker events. Soon we’ll be sponsoring an AAU hoop team. We want the talents of all those around us to flourish. That’s what we believe this culture is about”
